After many years of neglect it was decided that it was time to spruce up the ASC club rooms. Near the end of last summer a team of fantastic helpers assembled to water blast and paint the outside of the club. Over a period of three days we managed to water blast, sand, undercoat and go twice around the building with a top coat. The difference was amazing.
Inspiration from the outside then flowed through to doing up the inside of the club. The focus was to paint the walls, renew the carpet and repaint the parquet floor and update the furniture. Again an awesome team of people assembled and attacked this task over a few weekends. The result is awesome.
Major projects like the roof and toilet blocks are still to happen and are subject to funding. We hope these tasks will be underway in the not too distant future.
All this work ties in nicely as this year for the ASC is a huge year with lots of regattas and competitions.
